This coming MAY 31 to JUNE 3, we will be going to CALAYAN ISLAND...
Calayan is located in the Luzon Strait north of Luzon and part of the Babuyan Islands Peninsula. four of the five major islands of the Babuyan Islands namely: Calayan, Camiguin, Dalupiri and Babuyan Island. Calayan Island is the largest of the Babuyan Islands. Fuga Island, the fifth island within the Babuyan Islands, is part of Aparri municipality. Calayan is home to the Calayan rail, a flightless bird identified as a separate species in 2004 and endemic to Calayan Island.
The Sibang Cove is one of the known destinations in the place. The municipal administration of the island is developing the cove as an ecotourism destination. As the area is also one of the breeding grounds of the humpback whales, this aspect is also intended to be highlighted for whale watching by tourists.
